1st Baptist of Kirkland

Yesterday we had a wonderful time visiting our friends at First Baptist in Kirkland.

Doing Well in Gig Harbor

Early this morning my g-mail account was hacked. As a result many have received e-mails that appeared to be from me saying I was stranded in London and needed money. I am sure that most recognized that this message did not come from me.

The truth is we are safe and sound in Gig Harbor, Wa and we are not in desperate need of cash!

I now have finally regained control of my g-mail account. Sorry for the confusion.

Discovery Leadership Retreat

I had a great day yesterday with the leaders of Discovery Baptist Church at their annual leaders retreat. We consider ourselves extremely blessed to have such wonderful church as our sending church.

Of course, it wasn't all deep theology we had some good laugh's too. Notice all the facial hair. It seems like my beard might be finally catching on.

Naomi and I attended Awana this evening at Christ the Rock Church in Port Orchard. During council time we shared about our ministry and life in Ukraine. Naomi was such a great help I treated her to a Blizzard on the way home.

The women at our church put on a lovely baby shower for Christina last night. The power went off a couple of times during the party so they had a nice candle lit baby shower.

Holly Made It!

Our newest teammate in Odessa finally arrived yesterday afternoon after 3 days of trying to fly in. Praise the Lord that Holly made it. Please pray that God will give her everything she needs as she adjusts to life in Ukraine! She will be working closely with Dr. Miriam Wheeler through our medical clinic outreaches mainly in small villages in the Odessa area.

Church Christmas Party

Today was our churches annual Children's Christmas party. There was a special service for the kids including lots of singing and a skit. The kids were also given a chance to perform their own song or recite a poem. Misheal and Naomi both won a prize for reciting Luke 2:8-14 together.

30 Church Leaders and a Blizzard

Once a year we gather our bible school directors and teacher for a time of training, encouragement and fellowship. This we held the conference on the 14-16 of December. We were hit by a blizzard on the 16th, highways were closed, trains were stopped and transportion came to a near standstill as a result most of our attendees did not make it home until the following day.

A group of us took advantage of the afternoon break to play a quick game of soccer.

Heading out on Wednesday with a big blizzard coming in. We all eventually made it to Odessa, but most had to spend the night in Odessa because the trains and buses were delayed or not running.

Sleds were the perferred mode of transportation for the 6 and under crowd.

Our vehicle was certianly not a perferred mode of transport. It did terrible in the snow. However, it probably didn't help that I still had summer tires on it.

Bread Line!

With all the snow came shortages in bread. It seems the people panicked and when ever a bread truck did arrive there were lines of 100+ people waiting.

VII Annual Conference

One of the things we look forward to most this time of year is our annual conference for our bible school directors and teachers. It is always exciting to be in the midst of these servants who are faithfully ministering and teaching in their local churches. Tomorrow these men will be gathering from all over Ukraine and Moldova for 3 days of fellowship, learning and encouragement.

Our guest speaker this year is Dr Gunn - professor of Bible, theology and Biblical language at Shasta Bible College. He will be speaking to our Bible school directors and teachers on the topic of Bible Interpretation.

Please pray for us!

* Pray for the safety for all traveling to and from the conference
* Pray for Dr. Gunn as he speaks and for his interpreter
* Pray that the teachers and directors would be edified and encouraged
* Pray that each school would effectively train individuals to serve Christ

Pastor Anatoliy is a graduate of the Church Ministries Institute. He is currently invloved in his second church plant. This new church is located in the village of Lemani, about 1.5 hours from Odessa, Ukraine.
